We have waited a long time for this doctor's appointment we went to today. Dr. Massoudi was who Sterling was referred to by his general practitioner. Coming to find out one of the old receptionist from the salon, Mary, is now a receptionist at this office. She was so helpful getting us the appointment and all the paper work involved.
Basically he told us that Sterling has a back of a 58 year old, his back looks 30 years older then he is. He has 3 worn out disks in the very lowest part of his back and torn ligaments. Surgery is not the option right now but is inevitable with in the next 10-20 years. Kinda scary but it is what Sterling wanted to hear, NO SURGERY!!! At least not in the near future. (I tried to scan one of his MRI films but I couldn't figure it out. ggrr)
The doctor also wanted Sterling to stay away from off-road motorcycle riding. YA RIGHT! He simply told to take it easy with work and play and life in general. The 30 lbs. he lost recently and that has made a huge difference. If he can take good care of himself and go to his 6 weeks of physical therapy the doctor ordered he should be able to postpone surgery for a few years.
