Labor Day ride from OC to Big Bear

Sterling is now the proud owner of an Ultimate "Riding" Machine aka a BMW. He always wanted to own a BMW he just never in a million years thought it would be a motorcycle. And to boot all of his gear matched the bike!

At 8:30am 9 guys met up at a gas station off Ortega Highway. They took off and road through Ortega Canyon all the way to Lake Elsinore. Then they rode surface streets to Lake Perris.

They arrived at Chaparral Motorsports in San Bernardino and met up with 12 more guys. Off they rode up the mountian to Big Bear City. On the way they had a catastrophe. One of the guys had just purchased a bike that was way more bike then he could handle. Basically he took a left hand turned faster then he should have, Sterling and few other guys had to dodge him as he and his brand new bike lay on their sides in the middle of the road. (After note: The whole left side of the bike was destroyed and the rider walked away with road rash, 3 bruised ribs and a broken collar bone.)

Finally most of them made it to Big Bear City. They took over a little Mexican/bar restaurant and had lunch. By this time it was 1pm. Needless to say it took them a little longer then they thought getting up the mountain. But going up the mountain was the fun part.  

On the way home Sterling and his friend Ryan took the wrong freeway, again, and got lost/took the long way home. Sterling planned this whole ride. He posted messages on motorcycle forums and he got 23 guys together to go on this ride. In Sterling's own words "I will never do that ride again!" Why you ask? Because his but was sore, his back was killing him and the elevation messed with the head cold he caught from Jaxson. Other then that it was a great ride with great friends and overall a huge success. He is looking forward to the next adventure that some one else plans!
